As the summer season starts early, it felt right to record a mix without those big drops and hard climaxes with intense tension and release. I wanted to approach this mix differently as a warm up with a more stable groove along the way, just as elegant and loungey as it needs to be 🎶

Finalizing the three tracks, mixing and mastering them in the middle of renovation chaos, became less about comfort and more about discipline. Wake up at 6 a.m., show up, and work hard until your batteries run out. Nap, wake up again, work out, jump in the jacuzzi, do whatever it takes to stay unstoppable.

Ever wondered how cloudy a DJ's music taste could get along their journey?

The rejections, failures, and trials shape how the artist becomes who they are, or if they pull out of the game and decide they can't keep pushing. This happens to 80% of people who aren't resilient enough to handle the cruelty of the music industry.

The first stage is entry level. You discover electronic music through a certain event, tape for the older generations, or a party you went to. Either you click with it or it's not for you.

Then you come across an artist you really enjoy and start thinking you'd love to be on the booth. The beginning and entry level is always a cool game. You play music to your friends and everyone cheers for you even though you're not the best in terms of skills. You find some support from your surroundings, and when you're hooked, you start seeing the cruelty of the industry and how hard it is to get yourself booked in your dream clubs or festivals.

That might pressure you to follow trends or lose your identity along the way, unless you're not doing it for fame or money. When you're passionate about it, you become unstoppable. The rejections and failures become your fuel that keeps pushing you toward your dream. That's when your music taste will always resonate with what you love and what you do, regardless of what's trending. It's okay to evolve along the way with the music, but staying true to your sound is essential.

Here are the stages of how my music evolved yet reshaped to become a fusion of sounds that brings my signature and identity to a whole new level, and how far it took me to keep myself from burning out and losing track.

🏆 Just discovered my remix for Wanna Dance was added to the official After Hours Essentials 2026 Minimal Deep Tech charts by Beatport. Such a great feeling and milestone that my name is getting the recognition I'm aiming for.

Having the release on the same VA " Echolette Records " 💽 with Francesca Lombardo, Birds of Mind and Nesta, finding my name on the same charts alongside calibre 1 artists like Satoshi Tomiie, Kolter, Silat Beksi, Per Hammar and Paolo Bolivar.

This is pure blessing and the universe tells me to lock in more because grinding & hard work pays off ☣️

Why is this special?

When I decide I'm going to create a track, I don't think how I'll fit in or chase trends during my creative process. So basically at the end the track becomes very hard to release in labels because it's very different from what's on the market at the moment and that's my aim, to just be 🧘🏻

When this is appreciated I feel like I'm genuinely getting to where I want to be, not trying to adapt to hop on the trending train.

Demo Breakdown:

Track A (130 BPM) vs Track B (133 BPM). Track B's faster, so it pulls ahead. Goal? Sync them using ears only.

Step-by-Step:

1️⃣ BPM Match (Pitch Fader): In headphones, nudge Track B's pitch fader down (~131 BPM). Now speeds align—no constant jog wheel chasing!

2️⃣ Phrase Fine-Tune (Jog Wheel): Tiny nudge for perfect beat grid. Last pitch tweak locks it.

3️⃣ Bring to Main—Smooth Mix! Just like Sync, but YOU control it.

Exciting news for Karim Yousry as his remix of “Wanna Dance” by acclaimed electronic artist Francesca Lombardo has won the official remix competition on the prestigious Echolette Records. Francesca Lombardo is a globally recognized producer and DJ, the visionary founder of both Echolette and Echoe labels, and a true icon within the techno and underground electronic music scene. The Echolette team commended Karim’s remix for its exceptional creativity and high production quality and expressed enthusiasm about introducing his work to a broader audience.

Karim Yousry’s track Lost in Eden has been officially released as part of the Tzinah Bright Magicians: Session Three compilation, now available across all major platforms.
